Anand Subbiah, Program Committee Chair

Mr. Subbiah has over 25 years of experience advising the energy and environmental industry. He has wide ranging expertise in providing advisory services for transactions analysis; risk management, portfolio and project financing, carbon finance; energy planning and policy; utility restructuring; integrated resource planning; tariff analysis; renewable energy; energy access, energy efficiency, load research and demand-side management; technology and energy market assessments; project evaluation; and capacity development and training.

Subbiah worked with various consulting firms including Navigant Consulting, Bechtel and Nexant, before starting his own energy consulting practice. Subbiah has worked with clients in both the public and private sectors, and is an advisor to multilateral banks and donor agencies such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the United States Agency for International Development. Subbiah has worked in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and North and South America.

Subbiah has degrees in electrical engineering from Bangalore University, India, an MBA in finance from the University of Vienna & Vienna Institute of Technology, Austria, and was a researcher at the Center for Energy and Environmental Studies at Princeton University, USA.
